Mental Health Services
The Indianola CSD is committed to supporting the social and emotional well-being of students. The High School will partner with the following service providers; Choices Therapy Services and MercyOne House of Mercy to provide school-based mental health supports. These groups offer mental health assessments and counseling to students struggling with issues such as depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, anger, abuse, stress management, relationship problems and more.
Licensed therapists are available in every school, and services are individualized according to the developmental needs of each child. Counseling is provided during the school day and in district facilities to minimize time away from school.
Mental health services are elective and needs-based. Teachers, administrators, counselors, students and parents may refer a student toChoices Therapy Services or MercyOne House of Mercy. No therapist will meet with a student without the written consent of parents and a signed release of information.
Payment for counseling and assessment services are arranged through private health insurance or Medicaid.
Parents who prefer to seek mental health services outside the school may contact their school’s guidance counselor for a list of community based providers.
