Concern over the COVID-19 or Coronavirus is making everyone anxious. Children are looking to us for reassurance and guidance on how to react to their anxiety. The best way to do this is to talk with children about their fears and give them some sense of control over their risk of infection. The following resource, from the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP), offers practical suggestions for addressing these issues, “factual, age appropriate information about the potential seriousness of disease risk and concrete instruction about how to avoid infections and spread of disease.”
